Rooms at the Inn
Barrier Island Inn offers ten luxurious appointments, all unique with excellent amenities. Designed as country a inn in 2001, the owner Heather Harley-Davidson quickly realized her inn was not your typical mom and pop bed and breakfast.
"Many people (men particularly) feel uncomfortable staying at a bed and breakfast, eating breakfast with strangers, a large house with small rooms retrofitted to have a bath in each room. Channel Marker 71 Barrier Island Inn and Restaurant is NOT A BED & BREAKFAST. It was designed as an Inn, exclusive marina resort complete with a full service restaurant, "Jewel of the Sea" . All the rooms with spacious private bathrooms, cable TV, phones, and Internet access. With the restaurant being open to the public, our guests who have purchased inclusive packages don't sit at a Grandma Walton's big dining room table to eat with strangers, they dine in a restaurant atmosphere and the couple at the next table could be either locals dining or other house guests.
The four signature suites host waterfront balcony views with Jacuzzis or shower spas. All qualify as honeymoon suites. The grandeur and the tropical splendor demand the attention of the Spanish architectural detail and interior design arousing everyone's sensuality. Original Spanish quarter tile throughout the structure, antiques, and designer furnishings have been employed in the eclectic interior design. It is the perfect location for corporate retreats, coastal weddings, or a romantic get away.
Our Inn’s Weddings and Romantic Getaways
St. Augustine, Florida, the Oldest City in the nation, is also known for romantic get-a-ways and weddings. The Inn hosts several weekend weddings throughout the year with up to 150 guests with full service catering capabilities. The Intracoastal backdrop provides a picturesque setting for wedding photographs. Most of the weddings take place on the Cretan Labyrinth, a spiritual meditation path in honor of the female deity then walked by Christians symbolic of a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
